"The celebration of Holy Mass is as valuable as the death of Jesus on the cross"

HOW TO ATTEND ENGLISH/VIETNAMESE MASS IN OUR PARISH

To. All parishioners of Sts. Peter & Paul at the Nativity Church

May God bestow His peace on you and your family!

Churches in our Diocese of Savannah have been opened again on Sunday, May 31, 2020. Of course, the coronavirus is still around and seems to be more serious than before. But we have to open the church for our community to worship with our best care among danger.

You are invited back to the Sunday worship with the English Mass at 8:30 AM and the Vietnamese Mass at 10:00 AM as usual. Some temporary changes are to be noted:

+ All Sunday Mass will take place in our PARISH HALL, not in the church. We have more room there to keep “social distance”.

+ No Missalette and song book are available. It’s to avoid touching the pages that others may have touched with unclean hands. All readings and songs will be shown on the screen.

+ All attendants will wear masks and do hand sanitizing before entering the building.

+ The faithful should maintain a 6-foot distance from each other at all times. Families can sit together but must maintain proper distance from other families.

And following are the general directions issued by the Diocese and the USCCB:

+ Anyone with a cough of any sort, and anyone feeling sick, should not come to the church. Any parishioners who are uncomfortable about attending Sunday Mass due to the coronavirus are excused from their obligation to attend. In addition, parishioners in the higher risk category due to current illness, or age, are also asked to remain at home. The dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday mass will remain in place at least through September 23, 2020.

Please be understanding in patience and in love so that we may keep our church open.

Thank you for reading and coming back!

Notes for Mass during the week:

+ As the City of Savannah plans, “Phase one will cover what are “high-priority” services only”, we will have Sunday Mass at regular schedule.

+ As for daily Mass we will begin with 3 days a week: Tuesday, Friday and Saturday only.
